About

The Caterpillar is a story of enchantment and encouragement; history and divinity; reality and enlightenment. The Caterpillar is comprised of a series of books that have been recreated to ‘mirror the morals’ in certain books of the Holy Bible. Book 1 is a modern-day rendition of The Book of Job.

In Book 1 (as in The Book of Job) the main character, Hamilton Adams (the modern-day Job) struggles through his relationship with God in search of the ultimate answer to his question. Making his journey more difficult are his three critics: James Holiday (Eliphaz the Temanite), Kim Baker (Bildad the Shuhite), and Bobby Brinks (Zophar the Naamathite). They offer their advice as to the source of Hamilton’s suffering and base them upon their personal experiences and opinions.

The first three chapters in Book 1 are introductions for the three critics, or counselors, of Hamilton. The purpose of these chapters is to give background into the three, individually, and to offer an explanation as to why they believe what they believe. The events that they experience are the very root of their advice that they force upon Hamilton.

Finally, Hamilton gets the answers that he is looking for through methods and tests that he could not have foreseen—led by loved-ones that he hasn’t seen in awhile. His journey takes him everywhere without going anywhere, and in the end, Hamilton must rely on the least likely of creatures to guide him through his exercise in holiness on his road to righteousness.
